House System

Upon entering 7th grade, all students join a TRA house.  The house system is a way of connecting students with schoolmates from other grades. Houses are made up of 7th-12th graders and have various competitions and activities throughout the year to create friendships, build community, hone leadership skills, and forge character. Each year we hold a kick-off retreat at Tall Timber in Lake Wenatchee where incoming 7th graders find out their house assignments and the older students receive leadership training.

We have four houses, each named after an historical Christian leader. Houses are assigned by considering the unique strengths and personalities of each student.

Everyone [in secondary] gets a chance to interact, older kids and younger together. The older kids, grades 10-12 get to Tall Timber a day earlier to get ready for the younger students. Everyone gets pumped up for welcoming the younger kids.
