Grammar (Grades K-6)
Preparation for the All Christian School Field Day event in the spring is one of the units in Physical Education
Grammar is the first stage of the Trivium. This elementary stage takes advantage of young children’s natural aptitude for absorbing information through memorization, songs, chants, and rhymes. Through these methods, we take care to impart a solid foundation in all core subjects like reading, math, and history, as well as:
Art: Beginning in 1st grade, students participate in Art Studio. Our art instructor, a master’s level artist herself, emphasizes portraiture, line, and perspective and exposes students to a variety of art mediums. All students take Art through graduation.
Physical Education: Beginning in 1st grade, students participate in regular physical education.
Music/Choir: Beginning in 1st grade, students participate in choir.
Latin: Beginning in 3rd grade, students begin learning the Latin language. They will take this through the 8th grade.
Elementary students study history units that often culminate in a fun celebration that includes families. This is third grade Greek Feast.
6th graders do an in-depth research assignment on the countries of the world. As part of their study, students bring in items that represent the culture of their country
Hands-on experiments like this volcano are an interactive way of learning science concepts.
