K-6 Activities

Speech Meet:

Each year our students compete with one another on speeches they memorize and deliver in front of their classmates.  Winners are invited to participate in a second Speech Meet with one of our sister ACCS schools!

Spelling Bee:

The River Academy Elementary Students look forward to an annual Spelling Bee where they get to put all their phonics learning to work.  Finalist compete with four area private schools in a community Spelling Bee.

Reformation Day:

October 31st is the traditional day where the world celebrates Halloween.  The River Academy also celebrates on this day, but instead celebrates the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.  October 31st marked the famous action taken by Martin Luther of nailing the 95 theses to the Wittenberg Doors.  On this day in modern history you will find students in costumes celebrating their hearts out at The River Academy.

After School Sports:

One of the most unique aspects of life at The River Academy is after school sports.  On a Fall or Spring Friday afternoon you will be sure to see students of all ages, grinning from ear to ear as they play sports together.

Field Trips:

Students will experience countless field trips while enrolled at The River Academy.  From camping trips that follow portions of the Lewis and Clark trail, to soaking in beautiful Cathedrals in Spokane at the culmination of Cathedral Research projects, students will find that learning at TRA is fun and active.
